Transforming Pain Into Healing
Meet Nikah
Trauma Therapist in Atlanta & Across GeorgiaÂ
The first time you talk to a new therapist, you're probably wondering, "Can I actually let my guard down here?"

If you've spent your life being the strong one, that question hits different. You're used to being the one who holds it together — not the one who falls apart in front of someone else.

I believe healing happens in relationship. Before any technique or approach, I want to understand who you are, what you've carried, and what actually matters to you.

I'm Nikah, a therapist who works with high-achieving professionals who are exceptional at holding everything together — and exhausted from being the only one who does.

How I ended up here...
It started with a BA in Sociology & Psychology, and a job as a social worker in my community. From there, I moved into behavioral health work, where I kept noticing the same thing: I was helping people manage what was happening right now, without getting to the deeper, lasting change beneath it. I wanted to do more than help people cope. I wanted to help them heal and transform. I wanted to meet people with both compassion and practical, real-world tools — not just one or the other.

This led me to my MA at Lesley University, where I trained in Expressive Arts Therapy — a way of working that reaches what talking alone often can't. A couple of years into practicing, I pursued extensive training in EMDR, and it's been a core part of how I work ever since.

Over the years, I've had the privilege of working with organizations like ABCD Head Start, Friends of the Children, CHRIS 180, the YMCA, and Summit Counseling Services — supporting children, teens, families, schools, nonprofit communities, and couples. That range of experience is part of why I understand healing isn't one-size-fits-all. It has to meet you where you actually are.
My Values as a Therapist

Groundedness
We move at a pace your nervous system can actually keep up with

Specificity
No one-size-fits-all plan. Treatment shaped around you, not a template

Curiosity
We get genuinely curious about what a pattern's been protecting you from.

Vulnerability
The bravest thing you can do is let yourself be truly known. This is a space built for exactly that

Collaboration
We figure it out together. You are the expert on your life

Wholeness
You're not a problem to solve. Every part of you belongs here.

Safety
Before technique, this needs to feel safe enough to stop performing.
Therapy with me IS...
A space where the "strong one" gets to set something down, even briefly. Collaborative — you're the expert on your own life. Curious rather than clinical. Both emotional and practical. Paced to what your body can actually tolerate.
Less Formally...
Therapy with me is NOT...
A place where I hand you a plan and tell you how to live. Focused on "fixing" you — you were never the problem. About forcing gratitude or forgiveness before you're ready. Somewhere you have to earn compassion. About becoming someone new — it's about no longer needing to perform who you already are.

As an expressive arts therapist, I practice what I teach. I engage in the arts as often as I can — I DJ, I skate, I love karaoke, and I dance every chance I get. In my free time, I love to travel, spend time with my loved ones, eat really good food, and chase new adventures. I show up as my authentic self, in hopes that it gives you permission to do the same.

People have been trusting me with their stories, seeking my guidance, or treating me as the voice of reason since long before I knew what therapy was. Not to be corny, but I like to say being a therapist found me. I'm honored to now create a brave space for you to be your authentic self — accepted, heard, seen, and supported.

Get Started
You've Spent Long Enough Holding It Together
You know how to keep everything running. You know how to show up, keep it together, and make it look easy — even when it isn't.

What you haven't had is somewhere safe to actually set some of that down. Not to fix everything overnight. Not to have it all figured out first. Just somewhere to stop holding your breath for a minute.

You've spent so long investing in everyone else. It's time to invest in yourself, too.
If you're ready to find out what that actually feels like, I'd be honored to hold that space.
