Narrative Therapy in Atlanta, GA
That Story Isn't Who You Are. It's Just What You Learned to Believe.
Virtual Therapy Across Georgia
You have a story you tell yourself. You’ve repeated it so many times that it feels like fact:
“I’m too much.”
“I have to earn rest.”
“If I stop achieving, I’ll lose everything I’ve built.”
You might not even notice you’re narrating your life this way until something goes wrong, and the story that shows up isn’t “That was hard.” It’s “Of course that happened. This is just who I am.”
Repeated enough times, especially when a story is formed early or during something painful, it stops feeling like a story. It starts feeling like identity.
Narrative therapy helps you separate the story from the truth. By examining where it came from and what it has protected you from, you can start writing a fuller one; one that includes what happened to you without being defined entirely by it.
Sometimes the stories we carry show up in the way we interpret ourselves, our relationships, and the choices we make. You may not consciously think, “This is the story I believe about myself,” but it can still shape what you expect, what you tolerate, and what you believe is possible for you.
-
You replay conversations and situations, searching for what you did wrong or what you could have done differently.
-
You’re quick to turn a difficult experience into a conclusion about who you are; “I should have known better,” “I’m too much,” or “I always mess things up.”
-
You hold yourself to expectations you didn’t consciously choose, constantly measuring yourself against who you think you should be.
-
You’ve grown, changed, and accomplished so much, but still find yourself seeing yourself through an old version of who you were.
You Learned How to keep it together
does this sound like you?
Imagine understanding where you’ve been without letting it limit where you can go.
Imagine knowing your past is part of your story, but not the ending. You don’t have to keep living from a story you’ve outgrown. You can start questioning what you’ve been told about yourself, make room for what else is true, and decide what you want the next chapter to look like.

Meet Your Narrative Therapist in Atlanta, GA

Hey, I’m Nikah, a licensed professional counselor who works with high-achieving professionals who are used to being capable, dependable, and figuring things out on their own.
Sometimes, the hardest part isn’t knowing what happened. It’s realizing how much of your identity has been shaped by the story you’ve built around it. My approach is warm, direct, and collaborative; we’ll explore the stories you’ve been carrying, where they came from, and whether they still reflect who you are today.
You don’t have to erase your past or become someone completely different. You can understand where you’ve been while giving yourself permission to decide where you’re going.
Your story matters. But you get a say in what comes next.
