"your body keeps a different record than your mind..."

Body-Mind Connection
Your mind knows you're safe; you can say it out loud, even believe it. But your body hasn't gotten the message.
You carry tension in your shoulders, your jaw, your chest — even in moments that are objectively calm. Maybe you notice yourself fidgeting without realizing it — tapping a foot, picking at your hands, unable to stay fully still even when nothing's wrong. You might feel disconnected from your body entirely, like you live from the neck up, running on autopilot while something underneath stays braced, guarded, or numb. Rest doesn't always feel restful. Stillness can feel harder than staying busy.
That's not something you can think your way out of. The body keeps its own record, separate from what your mind has already processed and understood — which is why insight alone doesn't always reach it.
